Super-High-Resolution Map of Antarctica
Posted by Rich on Sep 08, 2018 in Science
A new super-high-resolution Reference Elevation Model of Antarctica (REMA) has been published that is the highest resolution map ever created of any continent according to an article on Gizmodo's Earther page ...
The map was developed by a consortium of researchers including the National Science Foundation, NASA, and the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Minnesota. Appropriate attribution and a full discussion of the project can be found on the website of the Polar Geospatial Center (PGC) of the University of Minnesota. The site provides a REMA Viewer that can be used to explore and manipulate the map as well as downloads of GIS layers and poster size map images.
